History buffs won’t want to miss this FREE guided tour to the site of John Tunstall’s murder with Historian Tim Roberts and Cartographer Billy Roberts. Interested participants should meet at the Billy the Kid Visitor Center in Ruidoso Downs and then caravan to the site. The tour ends in Lincoln with a follow-up talk at Bonito Valley Brewing Co. and a visit to John Tunstall’s gravesite. 4-wheel drive vehicles are recommended. 1/2 mile hike down an uneven trail.
