Together We Stand: The Flying J Wranglers and Nationwide Generosity Support Ruidoso

In a remarkable display of Ruidoso’s vibrant spirit of togetherness and generosity, the Flying J Wranglers recently raised over $35,000 during a fundraiser event held in Lubbock, TX, on July 1st. Their dedication and commitment, along with the support of our West Texas neighbors, are truly inspiring. These efforts have brought much-needed hope and support to our community, with all funds directly aiding Ruidoso residents affected by the recent fire and flood disasters.

Community Foundation of Lincoln County board members, Riker and Cindi Davis, Mary Weaver, Evelyn Lambert and Sunny Hirschfeld accept a check from Emily Hobbs, Mickey Bakas and James Hobbs from the Flying J Wranglers’ Ruidoso Wildfire Relief Concert at Lubbock Christian University.

A Significant Contribution

Upon returning to Ruidoso, Flying J members Emily Hobbs, Mickey Bakas, and James Hobbs proudly presented a substantial check to the Community Foundation of Lincoln County. The Foundation's board members, Riker and Cindi Davis, Mary Weaver, Evelyn Lambert, and Sunny Hirschfeld, graciously accepted the donation. This contribution, along with all funds raised, will go directly to the Shelter Fund, ensuring that every dollar helps those affected by the recent disasters.

Nationwide Generosity

The Flying J Wranglers' fundraiser is part of a broader wave of nationwide support, with over 3,000 generous donors from across the country contributing to our relief efforts. To date, more than $1.4 million has been raised, a testament to the caring nature of people near and far. The Community Foundation of Lincoln County is immensely grateful to all who have donated, emphasizing that no fees will be charged and every penny will reach those in need. This heartwarming dedication and kindness are the backbone of our relief efforts, providing not only financial aid but also hope and strength to our community, and exemplifying the resilience and unity that define Ruidoso.
