Silver Lake, Eagle Creek and the Mescalero Cabins for Summertime Fun (Seasonal)

Break out the tents, hiking boots, and fishing rods because Mescalero Parks and Recreation has officially opened up Silver Lake, Eagle Creek and the Mescalero cabins for summertime fun. New camping areas, a new road, a new bathroom, and shower facility and 360 pounds of rainbow trout in each lake are a few of the exciting new amenities guests have to look forward to. Each destination provides optimal conditions for camping, hiking, and fishing for those looking to enjoy New Mexico’s great outdoors.

CAMPGROUNDS:

Silver Lake

Silver Lake is open and grassy with campsites overseeing the eight-acre lake and offers camping, fishing, RVing and Wi-Fi with a monthly rate available.  Additionally, other sundries will be on sale. Campsites are available on a first come, first serve basis.

  • RV $55 for first 2 people, additional people in vehicle is $2/night.

  • Tent camping $35 for first 2 people, additional people in vehicle is $2/night.

  • Fishing $15/per pole. No New Mexico License required.

  • Picnic $20 per car load; 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Absolutely no drive-throughs.

  • Wood $12 per bundle

Mescalero Cabins


The Mescalero Cabins accommodate 5,000 people with beautiful streams and tall trees surrounding the mountain-side property. The campgrounds offer camping, fishing and an RV area on the side of the stream. Wildlife that frequents the area includes eagles, hawks, elk, mountain lions and bears.

  • Tent camping $35 for first 2 people, additional people in vehicle is $2/night.

  • Fishing $15/per pole. No New Mexico License required.

  • Picnic $20 per car per day load; 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Absolutely no drive-throughs.

  • Wood Permit $12 (as long as you are camped at the Mescalero Cabins, this covers as much wood as you need to use while you are there)

Eagle Lake [CLOSED UNTIL SUMMER 2025]


Eagle Lake is adjacent to Ski Run Road in Mescalero, New Mexico located at the base of the Sierra Blanca. The campgrounds are open and grassy with two bodies of water that measure 4 acres and 1.5 acres with camping, RVing and fishing available. Campsites are available on a first come, first serve basis.

  • RV $55 for first 2 people, additional people in vehicle is $2/night.

  • Monthly RV camping $1,200 (30 days)

  • Tent camping $35 for first 2 people, additional people in vehicle is $2/night.

  • Fishing $15/per pole. No New Mexico License required.

  • Wood $12 per bundle

  • Picnic $20 per car load; 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Absolutely no drive-throughs.
